We use this as a bed for our toddler. It is the lowest profile that I have seen. We will get bunk beds at some point for our boys and wanted something that we could potentially use somewhere else in the house at that time. I love that it is low to the ground so it was an easy transition for our little boy. It might be too big to slide under some beds with a regular mattress on top, but one could always put the higher bed on a little block if you needed an extra inch or so to slide the trundle under. Be sure to measure how much room you have under the bed, but also the dimensions of the over all bed. We have an antique canopy bed and I think that this is a little bigger than the footprint of that bed. We put a 7 inch foam mattress on this from Brentwood (purchased on ) and our little guy loves it.
Also, I warned my husband from other reviews that it might take a while to put together and that he should leave extra time to do it. I don't know if it was the challenge or if it really is easy to put together, but he had it finished in 10-15 minutes.
We purchased this for our “grandkids” room. We wanted this because we wanted to use every inch of space for play, imagination and play. Our grandchildren LOVE this bed! We left off the accessories that are optional with the bed underneath, because I put other items there. It feels a little wobbly when you are going up or down, but when they learned that their “Pops” who weighs over 200 lbs. went up to test the stability and make sure all was safe, they were A-OK and have been like little monkeys. We have a rule at our house that it is only for sleeping, or going up to read or have quiet time AND only one at a time is allowed up there. (Because usually with 2 or more, they will wrestle, jump, or be too active for our peace of mind!) Safety is a big issue when they stay at our house. All of us LOVE this loft bed and highly recommend it!
We ordered two of these for our kids’ room at our summer house. The white is a little more beachy. My father and sister in law put both together in less than 4 hours, which we thought was pretty good timing. The directions were pretty clear, but you need to lay out the pieces and take your time to read carefully. We added gripper tape to the ladder so the kids don’t slip going up and down if they have socks on them. It feels very sturdy and safe.
I was excited about the bed until it was assembled. Im extremely disappointed how wobbly and squeaky it is. I cant really return it since its already put together and my daughter needs a bed.
We ordered this a couple months ago and finally got around to putting it together. I've been dreading it, figuring it would be a huge pain. Honestly it was much easier than I was anticipating. It took about 2.5 hours for my husband and I to put it together. The parts are all clearly labelled, and every part fits perfectly. It feels super sturdy and I have no worries about my children sleeping on it (as I have with some in store models we tested out!) I especially love that it can come apart to 2 separate single beds if my boys decide they don't want bunks anymore.
My only suggestion is to make sure your top support on the ladder side is the right direction!!! We did not pay attention and had to pull half the top of the bed apart to flip the beam over to attach the ladder. That was a pain but totally our own fault.
We ordered bunk beds from 2 different companies through . This one we paid a little more for, but it is well worth the price. We were impressed with the quality and the appearance of the materials and parts. Putting the bed together will be much easier if you always take a good look at the part that's being called for and observe which side the drilled holes are on. If you don't pay attention to this detail you may end up installing pieces that will have to be undone later because the holes are on the wrong side. Other reviewers have mentioned that it's important not to tighten the bolts too much and that's certainly the case. You need to have some flexibility. It can be helpful to use a powered screw-driver or drill at times, but that's when you need to be careful not to over-tighten until the unit is completed. The spacers used between the metal bars that will support a mattress can be a bit tricky to push into place. We found that using a rubber mallet with a small piece of wood to tap the spacers into place worked like a charm. A great looking finished product that we believe is a great value.
This is a perfect bunk bed for a small bedroom. It was easy to assembly, just follow the instructions and in 2 1/2 hours everything was done. It's very sturdy and looks good.
