Creaking that people have noticed is from not getting the hardware tight enough, which is hard with the included tools (but do not over tighten!

The bed is fairly sturdy, but does wobble a little. The ladder rings do hurt your feet so you will need to purchase foam pipe insulation (the kind that has the split down the center to pad the rails. You might want to put some up top as well for safety. The directions are vague but common sense will help you thru that. Other than that, my boys really like the bed. It took us about 3.5 hours to put together. Not fun but the boys enjoyed it. And its over now so it really doesnt matter. All in all, for the money, we love the bed. Also, the ladder ends up being at the front of the futon, not the back as shown in the picture. Maybe that was an error on our part, but it worked out better in our room layout so we are happy. The futon is fairly easy for an adult to convert and is super comfy with the 8 inch futon mattress sold on . We like it. Were happy. Good purchase.

The bed is high enough to allow room for my desk(living in a small apartment, this was the key factor in deciding to buy this bed, and low enough that I still have headroom with my ceilings at 91 inches.
The only thing preventing a perfect review on my part is how wobbly the frame is the supports are rather thin and it rocks back and forward even after tightening every bolt possible. Id attach it to the wall were it not an apartment, but obviously thats not doable in my current situation.
Would recommend to anyone looking to increase space in an apartment or dorm.
